Maritime Radio

The Maritime Radio course teaches emergency radio procedures and everyday operating techniques. Learn all about the uses of marine radios, choice of frequencies, operation, phonetic alphabet, procedural words and phrases, as well as Digital Selective Calling and the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System, (DSC/GMDSS). All mariners, including recreational boaters, will want to take advantage of the many features and capabilities of this innovative form “automatic” radio. Secure your lifeline. This complete package with CD, and the new Digital Selective Calling, will prepare you for the Restricted Operator Certificate (Maritime) with DSC Endorsement exam. To operate a maritime radio, you need the certificate. It's the law!

Notes

This course is two evenings 7 – 9:30 PM on Fri 5 and 12 Apr. Package 1 provides a printed Maritime Radio Student Notes Manual with CD at the Seminar 5 Apr and includes the Exam on 12 Apr. If you prefer an e-book, please buy and download the manual from www.cpsboat.ca  tab Shop, Course Material product number k10516e and sign up for Package 2 (Seminar & Exam). Package 3 (Exam only) is for students who study on their own.
